Adventure, discovery, history with a dash of humor—all this in books helps us become better and kinder. The world no longer looks as dull as it sometimes feels in life. I sincerely hope that my stories will lift your spirits and give you a positive outlook. 

The stories about Michel de Grammont are all written as if using carbon paper: born in 1645, killed an officer in a duel at the age of fifteen, was banished from the country, sent to a school for cabin boys, and so on. Personally, I have graduated from more than one maritime college and spent nearly a decade at sea, and to be honest, I still cannot wrap my head around what kind of institution that is. Did they really professionally train people there to be boys on errands?

My story about Michel de Grammont is completely different.

It is filled with the adventures of a young aristocrat. You won't find tedious chronicles or analysis of historical discrepancies here. Without distorting historical facts and avoiding obvious absurdities, I simply give the pages some air. I am guided in this by imagination multiplied by personal experience, as well as by an endless, strong-willed process of editing, the ability to look at my own writings through the eyes of a reader, and a massive desire to show everyone the true Grammont: strong, forgiving, responsive, kind, resourceful, and, of course, explosive — by virtue of his character, embedded in his genes by the famous Burgundian House of Granges-Grammont from the free region of Franche-Comté.

However, after turning just a few pages of the book, you will likely understand what I meant. I wish everyone peace, goodness, and positive emotions.
